Hello my name is Kim and I am a Single Mom to a wonderful boy. My son and I moved back to Michigan in the spring of this year, from Ky to be around my Mother due to her being ill from cancer. Bless her heart she passed just a few weeks ago. My son is 14 and has Autism
and recently found out Schizo-Affective disorder. Due to him not staying stable it has put a big damper on me finding employment. I am limited on the hours that I can work , due to having to be with him or on call for him 24/7. That has put such a strain on the money situation. I have been selling off my belongings thru the summer to keep the bills somewhat caught up. Now that winter has reached us that has put a stop to the few extra dollars that I was able to make. I do not know what I am going to do to provide a Christmas for my son, it tears at my heart that times are so rough right now that I can't even afford a gift. It would be a lot easier if my son was able to understand the true meaning of Christmas. I sit here writing and the lump in my throat gets tighter and I can feel a tear starting to form. It tears my heart thinking that he will wake up on Christmas with no present under the tree. I checked with the local organizations but due to his age with a disability or not he doesn't fall in thgeir guidelines due to age. I am just needing a hand and when I get my feet on solid ground I will pass it forward. I truly need the help and dont know where else to go.

“True Meaning of Christmas” – the ninth annual free Christmas dinner
When: Noon to 3 p.m. December 25
Where: William Ford Senior Activity Center, 6750 Troy Street, just west of Telegraph Road and north of Ecorse Road.
What: A group of volunteers serve free Christmas dinner to anyone, whether alone, less fortunate or hungry – and their guests. This year, the meal will include turkey, ham, white and sweet potatoes, gravy, corn, salad, beverages, desserts and all the trimmings. The dinner is organized by the Domski family, which years ago chose to end its annual gift exchange and put the money toward a meal for anyone to enjoy. In addition, the Taylor Police Department has donated dozens of turkeys and hams. Last year’s Christmas meal drew an estimated 200 diners and plenty of volunteers.
Those who cannot arrange transportation to the Ford Center can call for a free ride in advance or on the day of the event. The telephone number is (313) 291-7740.
Potluck in the Park’s 17th annual holiday dinner, a free meal open to anyone! It includes a turkey dinner with all the trimmings and socks filled with goodies. Guests can make a free phone call using cell phones provided by volunteers, and they can have their photos taken with Santa. Local jazz musicians will play music throughout the dinner.

I'm a single mother with a 15 year old girl and I lost my job this year. This is the first time in my life I wasn't able to find a job and been unemployed. I have worked hard my whole life. The internet is a wonderful tool on seeing who is hiring, but the hard part is getting a interview. Let alone a job. needless to say times have been really tuff. I have drained my savings. Cashed in my 401k and now there is nothing left. My daughters birthday was in November I wasn't able to get her anything we baked her a birthday cake togeather and i made a birthday banner for her. I have sold things on craigs list. I have done everything i can think of. Now I'm to the point where all my bills are so behind I'm afraid. Then with all of this I have taken in another child that is so deserving just needed someone to love him. his parents cared nothing about him they wouldn't even take him to school he too is 15 like my daughter. Both of these kids work very hard in school and have good grades. I have been given all educational rights for this wonder child and now it's Christmas and it would mean so much if i could put something under the tree for them. With that said more then anything I would like to have a job. That would be the real answer to our prayers. So even if know one can help maybe you might help by giving some ideas on finding a job i have exhausted every angle i know. We are in need of help with utilities, food, Christmas and both of the kids need clothes they never even got school clothes and the clothes my daughter is wearing are so tight I just don't know how much longer she will be able to wear them. Thank You...God Bless and Merry Christmas to all.

The Information Center, Inc. is able to help, with the generous support of our donors, through two avenues.
Adopt-A-Family: Donors are supplied with the first names and the "wish list" of a local family. The donors purchase gifts for the family and deliver them to TIC offices, where they are then distributed to the families. This is the most rewarding way to support a family in need of a "hand-up" at the holidays.
Gift Certificates/Cash Donations:Some donors prefer to purchase gift certificates to help a individual
or family meet a special need, or make a cash donation to The Center, who in turn, purchases gift certificates or gifts for individuals and families. The Center's trained staff thoroughly interviews each client to verify their need for help before distributing any form of assistance. We also meet regularly
with other agencies to assure that there is no duplication of services. If you are interested in helping
a local resident OR need assistance, please contact our office for more information.
Assistance is limited, so please contact us early if you require assistance for your family.

Hi, We are a 3 person family... all of us young ladies :) I am a 31 year old single momma, & I have a 13 year old daughter- Sierra Kaylee, and an 11 year old daughter- Brianna Angelmarie. No child support, and unemployed now, due to many reasons. We are now living back with my parents, and Christmas is just around the corner ... and I'm fearful of that day, my girls say that all that matters is that we are together, not presents, but still it hurts knowing that Christmas morning they will not have presents to open under the tree. I almost just want to disappear! It really hurts not being able to buy them gifts. :( that's all i can say right now. sorry, and thanks for reading.
Hi to everyone! I am sending our UPDATE as of Dec 11th 2009......As all this started LAST DEC 2008 the knis and I have had many challenges and the most recient was becomming homeless on July 1st.....It was a long long year with the Violence from my ex (YES....MY EX! DIVORCE WAS FINAL OCT &th 2009 and I WON soul physical/legal custody NO visitation and orders to leave the satte of Az due to the judge finding us to be "In eminent danger of being harmed or killed") We have been trying for 5 mon to go back to my home town in N.H. and we were SO CLOSE back in aug I found a website called "MODEST NEEDS" from" Who Knew" aidpage and we were granted and approved for a 2,500 dollar grant to make the move to N.H. but 2 days before I was sending the LAST PIECE OF PROOF-my lease form the home I had been paying for to secure that we had it set up with utilities and ready.....Then I got a phone call.....The man I had paid 2 months rent and sent a third out that day called me to inform me that his "friend " lost their job so he let them have the house! WELL.....It gets worse from there! I looked up the adress on google (a friend told me I can get arial and viewing of house) I was shocked to find that I had been paying for a HUGE empty field in the middle o nowhere!!!! I had stayed homeless for those 3 mon to pay the rent for a place that was sup to be our new START and I had to tell Modest Needs that I was unable to accept the grant. I today am doing my best to try to save(pretty impossible ) It is too cold to camp and save so I have took a 99 dollar M.I. Special to a sm appartment and we just barely made the rent this month .....Christmas is not on our list so I am going to be askin for cards/letters from SANTA (explaining that he is running late but will have gift for them on 3 of jan) Thats when I get my SSD! or a dollarstore gift . I have found a great site Id like to share with the group, I have been unable to post my"wish" as of today for some problem with my computer but hopefully Ill get the word out and the kids can gat a card or letter to keep the anticipation going(They missed xmas all together last year and at 3,6,&10 they do not understand....The sith is called wishuponahero.com and it is a open site to wish for a want or need.....you can ask for you or for someone else, also you can GRANT wishes for other people. It has a list of things people ase WANTING and also a list for people that are in NEED. please check it out and if anyone out there wants to be Santa and write or email my kids let me know, I think it will halp that they can see santa will be here ....JUST A LITTLE LATE. Ill give my mailing address for anyone that would be intrested in sending a christmas card if you email me for the address. Thankds and GOD BLESS ALL THE PEOPLE SUFFERING THIS DAY TOGETHER THRUOUT OUT NATION!!! We have been blessed to have a roof over our head finally so anything after that we are gblessed with is EXTRA!
Anyone who can help with christmas this year for an 11yr old girl and a7 yr old boy would greatly be appreciated...They don't even have a christmas tree to put up or very much food for this glorous holiday season this year...
Catholic Charities agencies serve people of all faiths. They provide a wide range of services — housing, emergency services, health care, child care, adoption, and other critical services.
For information on how you can get the help you need or to learn about local programs and services, volunteer opportunities, job openings, media contacts, and other information, please contact your local agency.
Please note that many Catholic Charities agencies have branch and satellite offices throughout the area they serve. So while the main office that is listed here as your contact may seem far from where you reside, the agency may have other offices closer to you that they could refer you to.

I hate to ask for help!! I am the one who will help others when I can. Not the other way around. But here I am asking
I was hurt in 1998 while working as a jailer for the Dallas Sheriff Dept. I have been though a lot of back and neck surgerys a total of 25 in the past 10 years. I will have to undergo more surgerys in the future. The injury has allso caused nerve damage down both of my legs and arms. The doctors said I am permanently disabled and will never work again. I have to use a electric scooter just to get around. I have a spinal cord stimulater in my back and a metal plate in his neck. The county/workcomp was paying me $1,508 a month but as of April 2006 they have stopped paying me and refuse to pay anymore. So we are $1,500 a month short! On top of all that this year My wife has had a few surgeries herself because she has the Brac 2 breast cancer gene. And our little 2 year old girl has some health problems of her own. So needless to say the medical bills and others are stacking up. We have 3 kids Girl-2, Boy-8, Girl-17. My wife does work but its not enough money to pay our bills and keep our home. We really need your help with any thing you could send us.
Or I can send you the kids Christmas wish list with there sizes. Then you could just send it to us.
You can also help us by doing your christmas shopping at
My name is Tom I am out of work due to leg injury and receive no money my wife works but it barely makes the rent and bills we have 7 children and it breaks my heart not to be able to give them a Christmas this year if anyone could help I give my word that when my injuries are healed and I am able to work again I will work off any help I have received I live in GloucesterCity,N.J. 08030 619 Powell Street 856-456-2619 and if there is no help out there I do understand and my family and I wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS. THANK YOU, TOM

Is your mom on a ventilator at home? If she is then call and let the power company know that. I don't think they would want to be liable if something happened to your mom, that makes for a good lawsuit. And, by the way, call an attorney in your area and talk with him about this matter. The phone conversation or first visit is free for most attorneys.
Contact the American Red Cross and Salvation Army, let them know of the situation, maybe they will help.
Also, contact 'adult protective services' of the local Department of Social Services/Department of Human Resources for assistance.

Hello. I found this site while looking for places that i could possibly get help with the holidays. I've been a stay-at-home mom for a long time now. My husband works full-time as well as goes to college full-time. We are behind in all of our bills and basically living paycheck to paycheck. We had to spend money that we didn't have to fix our kitchen floor. That money could have been used for Christmas, but can't have people falling through our floor. I have 4 kids, Ashley is 11 and has had to deal with some very adult stuff recently. A neighbor took it upon himself to tell her that he would show her what sex was like, and asked to see her chest. The cops refuse to do anything about it because he hasn't touched her. Morgan is going to be 5 on 12/16, and Destiny will be 4 on 12/8, and then there is Sean who just turned 2 in October. I have no money to get them Christmas presents. I'm not even sure if I'll have money to get the girls b-day presents this year. My husband works for Domino's Pizza so he doesn't make a lot of money. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking for anything for myself, I just want to be able to watch my kids enjoy Christmas this year.
this is a good way to earn a little extra money. It's not alot, but it adds up quick and you get $10 for registering. All you have to do is read ads that are about 5 secs. long!!
